FAQ

Road Freight — frequently asked questions

What cargo can move in a reefer truck?

Our refrigerated (reefer) trucks carry cargo that has to stay within a controlled temperature for the whole journey. FMCG, food and pharmaceutical shipments are the most common, and the same trucks run on both UAE domestic routes and cross-border GCC lanes. Tell us the commodity and the temperature it must hold and we will confirm the right unit.

Do you transport cars and vehicles by road?

Yes. We operate car carriers for vehicle transport, from single-car movements to multi-vehicle loads, within the UAE and across the GCC. Vehicles are loaded, secured and delivered by road, which avoids the handling and scheduling constraints of moving them in containers.

Can Waytrans collect containers from Jebel Ali and other ports?

Yes. Container movement is a core part of our road freight service — we collect from Jebel Ali Port and the UAE’s other commercial ports and free zones, deliver to site, and run containers cross-border into the GCC. Our Jebel Ali port-to-site guide in the Insights section explains how the delivery order, customs and free-zone paperwork fit together.

When should I use a box truck instead of a flatbed?

A closed-body box truck protects cargo from weather, dust and handling, so it suits general freight, packaged goods and sensitive items. A flatbed is the right choice when cargo is too large or too heavy to fit an enclosed body, or when it has to be craned or side-loaded. We will recommend the right one once we know the dimensions and how the cargo loads.

Which countries do you deliver to by road, and who handles customs?

We deliver by road across all seven UAE emirates and cross-border into Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. Waytrans prepares the customs documentation ahead of the border, and where you want duties and taxes included in a single door-to-door price, our DDP road shipments service covers the entire chain.
